Loads to choose from but our personal favourite for seafood is La Cabanne du Pecheur – eat out on the pavement and have one of their famous seafood boats (with every imaginable crustacean). Not cheap, but well worth a special trip into the City. (20-40euros per head depending on what you have)

La Rochefoucauld

Chez Steph – great steaks cooked on wood for a great flavour. Good menu at around 20-30 euros per head. Normally have some good seafood starters. You can sit outside in the summer right beneath the Chateau!!!!!

The Chateau Pizzeria – as the name suggests good pizzas at a reasonable price (7-12 euros) and also some good steaks of all sizes including XXL for around 22.5 euros. Bit basic but good food at a reasonable price.

Near Montbron

Brize Bois – Very nice setting out in the countryside about 12 minutes drive from us. Bit more fine dining and therefore a bit pricey, but quality is good. Starters range from 5-15 euros (fois gras) and mains from 12-25 euros (very nice fillet steaks). Very friendly restaurant run by a family from The Netherlands.

Chateau Nieuil

La Grange Aux Oies – This is a converted barn in the grounds of a chateau about 15 minutes drive from us. The owners offer a fixed price menu to include starter, main course, dessert and coffee with good quality wine included. This works out to around 45 euros per head, but the quality is probably up there with the best in the region. Very French and you will need a dictionary to translate the food menu unless your French is as excellent as we guarantee the food will be. If you want to go, we will need to book on your behalf well in advance – thats how popular it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!
