Sally and Peter Malt - Cambs
Thankyou Peter and Marion for sharing this lovely place! We haev so enjoyed our brief stay here, getting in some very relaxed bird watching in our sporadic wandering around the lake and just sitting by the house. We have counted 39 different species with some particularly pleasing ones that we do not get at home. Amongst the countless buzzards that live round here, we spotted a honey buzzard, and a couple of ospreys. The black redstarts here are as common as robins(of which we did not see one). The road at the top of the drive is where the hoopoes gather - delightful - and a family of red backed shrikes live up on the telegraph wires at the edge of the field joined by a pair of whinchats on occassion.Several golden orioles like to frequent the ash tree directly in front of the terrace - very obliging of them. The kingfishers are of corse a wonderful sight and share the perimeters of the lake with a few grey wagtails. One day we will come back to do a proper birdwatch! Be warned!

The Fareys from Essex
What a gem of a find. Peter and Marion were both fantastic hosts and the accommodation is amazing.Although we did visit some of the lovely surrounding areas, we could have just spent the whole two weeks in the grounds at Puyravaud.
Could write lots more about our wonderful hosts and holiday but it's 5.30am and have got to hit the road.
We wish you the best of luck
With love from the Fareys

Dear Peter and Marion,
What a truly special place you have here. I have really loved my time at Puyravaud, it has helped soothe away all my stresses and strains(well most of them!) It's such a peaceful place, the trees, the water, the sounds of the wildlife etc etc. Thank you so much for being so welcoming, friendly and kind to us all

Una settimana di riposo e divertimento (A week of rest and Fun)
(We returned to Rome very relaxed after a restful stay in the French countryside. We spent a week in a delightful corner of France that we still did not know. Your accommodation has surprised us positively because we found it even better than the photos posted on the Internet. Thank you for your willingness whenever we needed anything and for having initiated us into the mysteries of carp fishing!)

Great stay at Puyravaud
Marion & Pete,
thanks for being such great hosts. You truly have found a piece of paradise here at Puyravaud. Our cottage accommodation was excellent, the pool inviting and the grounds stunning. We especially enjoyed visiting the Hennessy Museum in Cognac for the very informative tour, Confolens is well worth a visit as was our trip to to the Haut Charente Lakes where we sunbathed, swam, made sandcastles for Anya and had a fantastic meal overlooking the lake at the Cote De Beouf restaurant. (Lac de Lavaud) Very sad to be leaving, but we will definitely be back soon.
Anya says she had a lovely time playing in the swimming pool!!!!!
