Puyravaud, Relax & Enjoy

Welcome to Puyravaud Lakes in the heart of the Charente region of France!. Peter and Marion Jackson have taken over 5 years to restore this historical site which now offers a range of quality accommodation.

Across To Puyravaud

The main house, dating back to the 18th Century, has three very large B&B style bedrooms, all with en-suite shower rooms. Guests have use of the house lounge, dining room and large conservatory overlooking a 7 acre lake and take their breakfast in this beautiful setting. The newly renovated barn and cottage (used by the Resistance in the Second World War) offer a range of excellent private accommodation. In the barn, there are four bedrooms, all with en-suite whilst the adjoining cottage boasts two bedrooms, both with en-suite. A 10mx5m swimming pool (with new abris from May 2011 for longer swimming season) is also available to guests from May to September each year.

To enhance your stay still further, we would be pleased to cook an evening meal for you using local produce and share further stories about the property, the renovation and this lovely region.

 The grounds at Puyravaud
Puyravaud is situated in the Charente (7 hours drive from Calais) and as such enjoys excellent weather throughout most of the year. The site is situated some 50 minutes from Limoges airport and 25 minutes from Angouleme airport. Cheap flights are available from Stansted, Luton, East Midlands, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Southampton and Bristol (some flights summer only). Weekend breaks are also available as are longer rentals if required.

There are many things to do at Puyravaud and in the surrounding areas of the Charente. Why not take a peaceful walk around the property and our 25 acres of lakes or down to the local village of Vitrac St Vincent. By car, visit La Rochefoucauld and the large chateau owned by the same family since the 11th century or Cognac and its many famous Houses still producing the drink of distinction. The City of Angouleme is also well worth a visit with its Old Quarter, full of restaurants and shops. There’s just so much to do!

Puyravaud From The AirWe think Puyravaud will appeal to those looking for a quiet relaxing break from a hectic lifestyle, any one interested in wildlife, fishing, walking or even painting the lovely countryside views. Why not make Puyravaud your base from which to explore the beautiful Charente. Swallowtail Butterfly
